Marathon - An Ultimate Mind versus Body Part II πŸƒ‍♂️ πŸ’¨. • What I’ve learned from my past marathon is :

• ⚡️Staying on pace throughout the race is very crucial especially for the last few kms. Like most elite runners said “marathon start at the last 12km” πŸ˜‰ .

• ⚡️Rehearse your hydration plan and foods during your long run - see your body reaction to it (you want to be at optimum level during race day) .

• ⚡️Take water at every water station - some people skip water stations because they felt it’s unnecessary. But the truth is, we must refilled before we need it. Especially at chilly weather, you might think your body doesn’t need water because you’re barely sweating but in fact your body were craving for water! My body produces healthy amount of salts when in fact I only skipped one or two water stations only! Need to rehearse more on that part! πŸ˜‰ .

• ⚡️Rehearse your gears during training as well - I chaffed at several places especially at my armpit! 😭 It happened because I didn’t put any Vaseline on to that or it might be from my jersey’s effect. Slight pain might distract your mind to stay on course! So it’s important to try it on your long run also to see whether it’s a suitable one.

• ⚡️Set your race goal time and put it on yourself! This key tips I learned from seasoned marathoners. I put my target time for every 5km till the end- wrote it on my arm guard! It’s crucial to keep on track and staying within the range. If you’re too fast on your intersections time, you might slow it down for the next intersections. It truly helps your mind to stay relax and peace throughout the race .

• That’s it! - for my sharing and a little bit of guidelines of how I executed my last marathon (21 minutes improvement) . Hope it might beneficial you in some way πŸ˜‰ .

• I’m an experimental runner for the time being. πŸ˜„. • Stay motivated peeps and strive for your glory! πŸ”₯ .

FASTEST MALAYSIAN @TOKYO MARATHON 2019

Honoured to be the fastest Malaysian  πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ύ  at  # TokyoMarathon2019   πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ yesterday.  Hard work paid off!  πŸ’―  Happy to finish my first  Abbott World Marathon Majors in a tough weather condition. 6 °C with drizzling rain and strong wind on certain part during the race. With the strong support from my coach coming here and all the prayers from family and friends, I keep reminding myself to be strong and believe the dream once I thought was impossible, breaking my personal best by 15 minute s and achieving BQ time of 2:57 at my 20th marathon! It was totally mind over the body yesterday  πŸ™   Saya pergi ke Jepun dengan kaki yang baru pulih dari kecederaan. Dan sewaktu race, rasa sakit itu kembali. Do you know what keeps me going until the Finishing Line? Dengan kaki yang hampir nak cramp dan cuaca yang sungguh brutal, hanya satu bermain di minda. Rasa bersyukur kepada Tuhan. I could have given up earlier, when I ’m no longer feel strong...
